This week Dr. Anthony Fauci, the retired former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) appeared under subpoena before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, in a hearing led by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY).
Ever the clever one, Fauci avoided answering questions about his role in the COVID-19 “pandemic” by invoking his Fifth Amendment right more than a hundred times, as follows:
“On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the fifth amendment to the Constitution.”
Because Fauci refused to answer questions, Senator Paul announced that the committee will hold a vote to hold Fauci in criminal contempt of Congress.
Dare to dream.
Fauci will very likely be able to crawl back into his hole unscathed. After all, just before leaving office in January 2025, former President Joe Biden vaccinated Fauci, metaphorically speaking, by issuing him an unlimited Presidential pardon.
So, although it makes for another interesting chapter in the COVID-19 saga, the Senate hearing is, sadly, a thinly disguised kangaroo court.
