As you are likely aware:
The "Ohio Eliminate and Prohibit Taxes on Real Property Initiative" is a ballot initiative for the November 3, 2026 election which proposes an amendment to the Ohio constitution that will abolish all real property taxes in Ohio.
Supporters of this amendment contend that property tax is a particularly insidious tax that undermines personal property rights and human liberty since it imposes a perpetual "rent" on property that is owned outright.
Opposition is concerned about "how to pay for stuff" (schools, local services, etc.) in the absence of property tax collection.
Where do you stand on this topic?
If you support eliminating Ohio property tax, it's important to continue reading below . . .

The initiative is currently in the "Petition Signing stage" which, if successful, will place the initiative on the November ballot so Ohioans can vote for or against it.
This means that approximately 418,000 certified signatures of registered voters are required. To be safe, the goal is to collect close to 620,000 signatures (approx. 150% of what's strictly needed) to cover invalid and unqualified signatures.
CALL TO ACTION:
So, if you are in favor of eliminating property taxes in Ohio, it's important to sign the petition so your voice can be heard!
Many individuals have taken up the fight, and have been circulating petitions. You may know someone personally, or heard about someone that has a petition. While this is great, it perhaps adds a little confusion about who actually has official petitions, where to sign, etc.
In the spirit of helping avoid confusion, here is the official AxOHTax website (click the link or image below), where all the petition signing locations and important details can be found:
Hope this helps!
