This year's annual West Liberty Labor Day Festival wrapped up a couple days ago.
What a beautiful weekend!
To the hundreds who stopped by to visit us: Thank you! We appreciate your interest and support!

More than 20 people signed up to receive the Top of Ohio Patriots newsletter - which is great! Welcome aboard! We hope you enjoy patching in to our upcoming announcements, activities and events.
We also appreciate the 70+ people who signed the petition to abolish property taxes in Ohio. This is a really important initiative, and as many voices as possible need to be heard on this to keep up the momentum.
If you haven't signed this petition yet, and you'd like to do so, please reach out to us at info@topofohiopatriots.com and we'll put you in touch with one of the many Patriots in Ohio who are personally taking charge of gathering signatures in local areas.
An interesting footnote about the Property Tax petition . . .
The TOP booth was set up for the entire Labor Day weekend (Friday-Monday), but we only had the petition on Sunday afternoon and Monday. Here's what we noticed:
After we put up the petition sign and had the petition available, our booth was flooded with concerned citizens, and we had a continuous line of people wanting to sign. Amazing!
We also attracted a large number of angry naysayers who wanted to yell at us for even imagining such a thing as "not having property taxes." Shocking, but true! The most common comment we heard was this (typically accompanied by an angry, shaking fist): "If you eliminate property taxes, how do you think things will be paid for?!" There are, of course, many ways to pay for services such as schools and fire and so on without relying on involuntary taxation that violates person property rights - but these angry folks, oddly, did not want to stick around to learn about such options. It's clear that they are really stuck in their thinking. So here's a challenge for all Patriots: How do we help such people understand that they have more freedom and options than they realize?
