In the spirit of helping you with the voting process, TOP has put together the following Voter Guide that (hopefully!) provides everything you need to know . . .

How to register to vote

Voting is a right for every citizen of the United States of America who is at least 18 years old.

Becoming a registered voter is easy. But you will need to plan ahead a little: You'll need to register at least 30 days ahead of the first election in which you plan to participate as a voter.

Everything you need to know about registering can be found on the Logan County Board of Elections website.

What's being voted upon in Logan County in November 2025?

There are a number of local elected positions and tax levies up for vote this year. You can find all the candidates' names and political party affiliations, along with detailed descriptions of all the tax levies and issues using this link:

Logan County Board of Elections website

If you click the above link, you'll see that these are big lists, so they may seem overwhelming at first glance.

The main thing to realize is that your individual ballot will not include all these candidates and issues. You will only be voting for the candidates and issues that are associated with your registered voting Precinct / Ward, as described below under the 'sneak preview' and 'Know your Precinct / Ward' topics.

That said, you might see several of the below on your ballot:

Elected Positions up for vote:

  • President of Council (City of Bellefontaine)

  • Treasurer (City of Bellefontaine)

  • Member of Council-at-Large (City of Bellefontaine)

  • Member of Council (City of Bellefontaine Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4)

  • Trustees for the Townships of Bloomfield, Bokescreek, Harrison, Jefferson, Lake, Liberty, McArthur, Miami, Monroe, Perry, Pleasant, Richland, Rushcreek, Stokes, Union, Washington, and Zane

  • Commissioner of Valley Hi

  • Members of Bellefontaine Board of Education for Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan Indian Lake, Riverside, West Liberty-Salem

Get a 'sneak preview' of your individual ballot before you visit the polls

In addition to understanding the big picture about the upcoming General Election, you might wish to have a 'sneak preview' of your individual ballot.

TOP definitely recommends doing this, because it's a great way to research the specific people and issues that you, as an individual voter, will be selecting.

To see what your individual ballot will look like, follow these steps:

  1. Check to confirm that you are a registered voter. You can do this easily using the Voter Registration Information page on the Logan County Board of Elections website. When you're on this page, just click the "Am I registered?" button. Then enter your first and last name. If you're a registered voter, your information will be displayed. (If you're not a registered voter yet, consider registering today! It's a patriotic privilege!)

  2. You'll now see all your registered voter details. You can explore this as needed to find all sorts of interesting information about your personal voter account. One key thing to note is your Precinct. This is your assigned geographic voting region, and it determines what details you'll see on your individual ballots. Alongside your name and voter registration information, you'll see a section called 'Quick Links." Just click the 'Sample Ballots' button to view what your individual ballot for the upcoming election will look like. You'll see the elected positions and candidate names, issues and descriptions, and so on. Viewing this in advance of visiting the polls will help you be a more prepared and informed voter, for sure!

If you'd like to have a wider view of all this, you can also see 'sneak previews' for ALL the individual ballots in ALL the Precincts / Wards HERE.

Know your Precinct / Ward

As a voter in Logan County, Ohio, your registered address automatically assigns you to a voting 'Precinct.' You may also be assigned to a 'Ward' if your address is within City limits.

In addition, your address determines your 'Districts' - which are related to other local, state and national level elections. For example, there are Districts related to Congressional, Senate, State House, Boards of Education, Courts of Appeals, and so on.

In each election, there will be candidates and issues that are specific to your Precinct / Ward / Districts / etc.

Detailed maps and descriptions can be found HERE.
