As you may recall, earlier this year, in our Top of Ohio Patriots’ March 20th meeting, we were honored to have Brenda Mitchel as a guest speaker.
In this meeting Brenda provided important updates about the Convention of States project here in Ohio.

In case you’re not already familiar with this initiative, it calls for an Article V convention to propose Amendments to the U.S. Constitution that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for members of Congress.
Brenda has just provided some new updates here in August, which she described as follows:
The Convention of States Resolution has been presented to committee in the Ohio General Assembly (both the Ohio House and Senate).
HJR2 is now in the Ohio House’s Government Oversight Committee. There have been 2 hearings thus far – and these occurred before summer break.
SJR3 is now in the Ohio Senate’s General Government Committee. There have been 3 hearings thus far, wherein 2 proponents and 1 opponent have been established – and these hearings also occurred before summer break.
The goal at this point is to get both resolutions passed and “Out of Committee” in the fall sessions, and before the end of 2025!
