Marjorie Taylor Greene has thrown in the towel, publicly announcing that she will resign from Congress on January 5, 2026.
Greene has served as the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 14th congressional district since 2021. She was originally elected to Congress in 2020, and was re-elected in 2022 and 2024.
Greene’s tenure has not been an easy one – mainly because her conservative yet outspoken nature has made her a natural target for left-wing attacks. That very same nature made her a darling of President Trump’s.
Until recently, that is.

Greene has disagreed with the President on several key issues of late – including the handling of the Epstein files, foreign policy decisions, and the current administration's prioritization of international concerns over domestic ones.
President Trump is now referring to Greene publicly as a "traitor" and "wacky.”
It’s an unfortunate and disappointing state of affairs for the Republican party. And it may represent the tip of an iceberg.
